Elkhart, Indiana – October 20, 2022 – Conn Selmer announces the promotion of Mike Kamphuis to Vice President of Sales and Education as John Fulton transitions to Vice President of Strategic Initiatives.

"With this alignment, we now have District Managers, Educational Support Managers (ESMs), Inside Sales Engineers, and our Customer Success team all working together to streamline communication and, ultimately, better serve and unify our presence in the marketplace.”
Mike has been in the music industry for over twenty years. Throughout his career, Mike has held many different positions primarily related to the sales and marketing of band and orchestra instruments including Product Manager, Director of Marketing, and Sr. Director of Product Marketing at G. Leblanc Corporation and at Conn Selmer. In 2013, Mike became the Managing Director of Conn Selmer’s Division of Education leading a team to create opportunities for Conn Selmer to collaborate with music education. Beginning in early 2022 he served as the Vice President of Education working towards the betterment of music education worldwide.
John Fulton has been asked to serve at the right hand of President and CEO Steve Zapf in a newly created position of Vice President of Strategic Initiatives. Here Fulton will be overseeing special projects and strategic corporate initiatives including managing product assortment goals, forecasting, and creating manufacturing build plans to deepen our ability to produce and deliver instruments when and where they are most needed.
During his tenure at Conn Selmer, John has been a District Manager, String Products and Accessories Director, Director of Sales for North America, and his last role leading up to this new opportunity was Vice President of Sales, Americas. John began his musical journey when he started taking violin lessons in the fourth grade and he continued his study with the culmination of an MBA at Arizona State University. John has also been an instrument cleaner at American Musical Instruments, a school road rep for Milano’s Music, and worked as an executive at various other leading companies within the music sector.
